Availability & slots

All of this is in the Provider Portal under Availability & Pricing.

Time slots

You publish the time slots you work. A customer booking you picks a date and then one of your slots for that date.

If you have not set your own slots, customers get a standard set of working-hours slots. That is a sensible default, not a recommendation — set your real hours so nobody books you at a time you are closed.

How many cars you take in one slot

By default, one booking per time slot. If you run several bays and can genuinely take more than one car at 09:00, raise the capacity — anywhere from 1 to 50.

A few things to know about how this behaves:

  • Customers never see a count. They do not see "2 of 3 left". A slot that is full simply stops being offered.
  • It is a per-slot number, one setting for the whole business — not a different number for each slot.
  • It is enforced properly under load. Two customers booking your last place at the same moment cannot both succeed.

Set it to what you can actually service, not what you can park

Capacity is the number of cars you can have in progress in that slot. Accepting four cars into a two-bay workshop turns into two unhappy customers and a review that says so.

Your daily limit

Separate from per-slot capacity, you can cap the total bookings you take in one day. Once the day is full, your remaining slots stop being offered for that date.

This is the honest lever for a day you know is already heavy — an existing big job, a short-staffed shift — without blocking the day entirely.

Blocking a day

Block any date you are closed: public holidays, a family event, maintenance, staff leave. A blocked date offers no slots at all.

You can record a reason for your own reference. Customers do not see it — they simply find no availability on that date.

Blocking a day does not cancel bookings already on it

If you block a date that already has confirmed bookings, those bookings still stand. Blocking stops new ones. Contact the affected customers yourself, or decline the bookings, before you block.

What a customer experiences

  1. They open your page or find you in search.
  2. They pick a date — blocked dates offer nothing.
  3. They see your slots for that date, minus any that are full and minus the whole day if your daily limit is reached.
  4. They pick a slot and request a booking.

At that point it is a request, not a confirmed job — see Receiving bookings.
